One thing I wish I would have paid more attention to while in college before coming overseas is how to tape minor sprains and learn some rehab exercises!
I don’t know if any other athletes have this, but my team does not have a full time athletic trainer which means I only see him once a week maybe. So as a volleyball player, jammed fingers, sore knees, and sprained ankles happen frequently. I have now picked up a few things via google or memory and can create my own make shift tape job, BUT I do know when I go back home I will make a stop in my athletic trainers office and start asking the right questions for next season!
Take it from me, it’s better to know ahead of time than to be stuck overseas with swollen fingers and ankles and trying to follow a YouTube video.
