Many American athletes finish their college career and want to take the next step, which is playing professionally overseas. To be more specific, many American volleyball players want to take the next step in their career overseas, but once that last ball drops in December and they are legally aloud to speak with agents and seek contracts, they have no idea what to do. “When should I sign? Who should I sign with? How much should I be asking for?” And once they do figure these things out and secure a deal… what should I pack? What should I expect? What will the training be like? The questions are endless and unfortunately, there is no place to turn to.
If you’re lucky, which many are, you can ask past teammates and friends that have had experience overseas. Every one is so willing to share the information because they have been in their shoes and wish someone would had shared the same things with them. So why no collect this information and put it all in one place? Where everyone can read about other athletes personal experiences and get personal tips and tricks on how to navigate life overseas.
So this is our attempt to connect and follow athletes playing overseas in a foreign country.
